Clean Before Sharing is published by Daniel Hall. This policy describes how the iPhone app handles information.

Images are processed on your device

You choose an image from Photos or Files, or send one through the iOS share extension. The app uses local image and text recognition to suggest areas you may want to cover. Images, recognised text and detected regions are not uploaded to a service operated by us.

Temporary files and the share inbox

The editor and share extension let you review images on your device. The app also maintains a local inbox shared by the app and its extension for previously queued images. The inbox holds up to five images. An inbox image is removed after import, or removed on a later app or extension opening if it is older than 24 hours.

A cleaned JPEG is created temporarily for the system share sheet. The app removes this temporary file when sharing finishes and removes stale export files on a later launch after one hour. There is no in-app photo history. Copies saved or sent using another app remain wherever you chose to put them.

Your private terms

If you add private words or phrases to help detect your own details, those terms are saved in local storage shared by the app and its share extension. Clear them in Settings when you no longer want them. They are not sent to us.

The original and the cleaned copy

The app leaves your original image unchanged. A cleaned export is a new JPEG with solid masks flattened into its pixels and the original image metadata omitted. You decide which regions to cover and must inspect the whole result; automatic recognition can miss private details.

Sharing and other services

Nothing is shared from the editor until you choose to open the share sheet and select an action. The destination app or service then handles the exported copy under its own policies. Device backup behaviour is controlled by your Apple settings. The app does not provide its own cloud synchronisation.

No account, advertising or tracking

The app has no account system, advertising SDK, third-party analytics or tracking. We do not receive your images, recognised text, masks or private terms through the app.

Payments and support

Apple handles the App Store purchase. We do not receive your payment card details through the app. If you email support, we receive the contact information and content you choose to send and use it to respond to your request. Do not include sensitive material that is not needed for that request.

Changes and contact

If the app's data practices change, this policy will be updated with an effective date. Contact support@agenticconsciousness.com.au with privacy questions.
